Hi my name’s Jacqui I’ve been a Youth Club leader here at Whitnash for the last sixteen years since my son started Youth Club. Now that we’ve found out that the new building is going ahead, and it’s all going to be further up the side of the field near the play area it can be adjoining on to the shops where we can have a new car park and a bike area because we don’t currently have storage for any of the children that arrive on a bike. Hi I’m Councillor Tony Heath, one of the lead members of the new Civic Centre and Library project. This where I’m standing now will be the new car park for the Civic Centre which will be behind us, and it will have a 34 space parking area with electric vehicle charging points, bicycle racks and a lot of landscaping. If I go round this way you will see how close it is to the shops which will be an advantage for the parents and shoppers who want to come and have their hair done or visit the local shops and also for the library; people going to the library can then park here, then go to the local shops and do their shopping. I’m Judy Falp, I’m the local District, Town and County Councillor for Whitnash. In all the time that I’ve been a councillor we’ve always had issues with parking at our local shops they’re extremely popular, very well attended but there’s never enough parking. The opportunity to provide more parking at the new Civic Centre will give people the chance to park their cars, charge them if they’re electric or if they come on their bikes, park their bikes; walk down to the shops, do their shopping, go back to the centre. It will certainly help with all the parking for the shops, and it’ll be good to link the shops and the centre together.
